What Do You Do When You Reach The Edge of Your Comfort Zone?
It can happen suddenly, it can happen unexpectedly. Sometimes you dream about it, hopeful and wishing for change. Other times it seems to be a fated step on your path.
You have reached the Edge of Your Comfort Zone.
You want to go beyond your edge, or at least you know you must.
We all have our own well-worn responses to change, which is ultimately what is happening at the edge of your comfort zone.
Some people are bigger risk-takers than others, and will venture spiritedly into the unknown spaces beyond their comfort zone.
What about those more cautious? Or those times when we all feel some fear, whether real or imaginary, about changing our shell or spreading our wings?
The Edge of Your Comfort Zone is a place of mystery, lost sleep, ambiguous dreams, spiritual awakening, anxiety, procrastination, and conflict between control and surrender.
What do you do?
Do you look back, hoping that your Comfort Zone will be enough?
Do you look forward, seeing nothing recognisable to you?
Do you panic, celebrate, or disconnect?
It is not always easy to sit with the discomfort of being in a state of flux. When you are rearranging yourself and stepping forward, without knowing where to place your feet.
It is a practice in learning to surrender to a bigger plan for your life, to surrender to your inner transformation. Surrender at all levels of your mind, body and spirit.
During times of transformation, I find it helpful to seek support that helps guide and ground me - yoga, friendship, nature and spiritual practices. If I can be of help to you, you can contact me on bryony@creativesoultherapies.com
