The Rising Of The Spirit Of The Feminine

Believe the women. Believe the people who have the least to gain and the most to lose. Believe that trauma is a silencing force — as is patriarchal structure, as is peer pressure — and that some people take secrets like this to their graves for fear of being attacked, labeled, judged, and cast out. Believe that the only way to find truth is to shine an investigatory light on EVERY hidden element, and that the only way THAT happens is if we believe the women.

The feminine is yin, inner, dark.

She exists within each one of us, though women may know Her more intimately through connection with their bodies.

On an initial impression, this is the blackness - the all-encompassing thick, cloying darkness where you can no longer rely on your sight.

For many people this evokes a deep fear - as might occur naturally, in the wild, stripped of your main sense of vision. And personal and collective fears are the focus - and potential - of this current time (what’s yours? Read The 2020 Global Portal of Awakening for some thoughts).

This is also a space of not knowing, of being in the unknown of the darkness. Another common fear that seems endemic in Western culture - the fear of not knowing, even not knowing for a long time. We have to find someone to blame or to save us, something to cling to - instead of sitting in the not knowing and tuning into our own wisdom.

The Rising of the Spirit of the Feminine is calling all of us. This is an echo from last year (see Working With the Womb Energies). She has been speaking for a while - have we listened? Have we faced Her directly?

This is the blackness - the deep inner void - from which we came.

It is the darkness, before the Creation of Light. It is symbolic of pre-Big Bang, and the nothingness that existed.

She is your potential.

This is the deep, dark, and - supposedly - dangerous world of women. Of the womb. The hidden, dark space.

But what are we really so afraid of?

This is the place of silence and grace, nourishment and warmth, heartbeats and soft words. Its hallowed walls bearing us and our growth, our spark, our essence.

These are sacred chambers - full of power. Much misunderstood and feared in the age of patriarchal structure. Overridden, categorised as a mere body part. Legislated against, misused, quieted.

What if the fear is of hearing our own echoes from these sacred chambers?

The darkness is more than your fear though - your fear is merely a reaction to the immensity of nothing-ness and everything-ness. Of potential, of greatness.

The fear is only you looking at yourself.

For She represents love, beauty and pain; rage and wisdom. A potent and powerful combination.

Indeed, a formidable combination for all those who have oppressed, repressed or otherwise persecuted others.

In my work, I am aware of many painful and destructive events surfacing from the collective past - wars, murder, genocide, ruling by terror and force, witch-hunts.

When have we all stood still like this, with such collective pause?

It is giving space for hundreds of years of history, trauma, and inherited, internalised belief patterns (based on these events) to be witnessed, healed and transmuted.

It is allowing the Spirit of the Feminine to rise.

And it is surfacing the question of how we intend to be in our future. Or rather, where we will choose to act from in our collective future.

Where will we choose to act from in our collective future?

This is the shift from individualisation to collectivisation; from linear thinking to creative thinking; from superficiality to depth. From a deadline being the most important (and stress-inducing) thing in your world to emphasis on connection, trust and respect for all life.

This isn’t just a shift in response to a virus or even, as I first thought, a purely mental shift. Yes, it’s that too - let’s get creative, let’s reflect, let’s build community and encourage collaboration. Let’s change our perspective.

But it is so so much more - something that makes most of us quake in our boots.

The world is shaking and women are waking. The Spirit of the Feminine is rising. Damn, she will be singing and dancing - louder and prouder than we have known for a long time.

She has been dormant, but when she rises the gods will quake in their winged shoes, for She knows how to carry life, and death. She is the sacred feminine and women most of all will feel Her Spirit rising within them.

Can you sit in the darkness, with yourself?

What is She calling you to know within?

How is the Spirit of the Feminine rising in you?

Let Her rise within you. Let Her teach you what She knows of the omnipresent darkness.
