Making Space For Mystery, The Unknown and The Unexplainable
When we venture into mystery, we discover our own truth and knowing.
When we depart into the unknown, we find beautiful gifts that are our birthright.
When we allow space for the unexplainable, we connect to the deepest parts of our soul.
Yet so many people are too quick to dismiss that which cannot be easily explained. When did we fall into the trap of thinking we humans can know everything, let alone explain it instantly?
Possibly, it is the need for certainty and stability, in an uncertain world. Perhaps it is the doctrine of a particular religion or culture. Or your own rigid thinking, to prevent facing the chaotic, uncontrollable force of the universe.
Where is the space for faith, doubt, exploration? Of ourselves, others and the world. Of our spiritual lives.
Western culture decrees that there is only one way of thinking. That convention, evidence and scientific analysis are the only grounds for exploring truth.
As much as I have a passion for science, it is the mystery in life where I am most interested.
While science and technology have made rapid progress into heretofore uncharted areas, they are not necessarily the right vehicles to engage in self development, soul discovery or spirituality.
Logic and analysis can only get you so far - and they are limited to the mental level.
What about the living, breathing experience of your body and system? We are made of trillions of cells, forming organs and systems of the body. There is so much we don't know about the complexities and connections within us and with our environment.
What about your complex emotional life or relationships? We feel emotions, which cascade through us as sensations, chemical messengers and action impulses.
What about finding true belonging? We all need to find places of shared experience, joy and connection.
What about finding a deep sense of belonging to yourself? Mapping out the journey of an individual's development and expanding awareness means letting go of fixed ways of thinking.
What about the divine or celestial level and our soul connections? We have a spirit and connection to the whole of creation. So often we are taught to think we are separate, yet we are an intricate, extraordinary part of all life.
There is far more than we can explain, and I hope you can enjoy it!
