Creative Kinesiology Is An Inherently Right Hemispheric Therapy

In previous blogs, I have written about the left-hemispheric shifted culture we find ourselves immersed in - with many of the messages we receive outside of our conscious awareness, yet forming and shaping who we are and how we behave within society.

We can find balance when we lead from the right hemisphere's perspective, with support from how the left hemisphere of the brain likes to do things.

Creative Kinesiology has such a right-hemispheric leading approach embedded in the culture of its practice, in the facilitation of healing work, and in a different way of being in the world. Creative Kinesiology leads from the right hemisphere's perspective, and calls on the left to find intentions, healing techniques, and understanding to help the whole brain feel more settled.

The right hemisphere favours openness to the present moment, to the depth of discomfort and uncertainty, making space for mystery and emotion. This preference, from the right hemisphere, welcomes you just as you are and with all that you bring.

Very simply, this means being with you as a client, as a whole and unique person, with whatever may arise in each session.

In Creative Kinesiology we flow with what emerges, we go at your pace and we follow your own body & soul's inner wisdom.

It can be messy, unpredictable and tentative as the healing process unfolds, and yet this is vital work, especially in today's culture.

The approach offered by Creative Kinesiology meets these individual and cultural needs:

  • We all need to be seen and heard at a deep level.
  • We need to find the space to slow down, to shift down a few gears from the fast pace of today's world.
  • We need to be able to lean into discomfort and vulnerability to reach the places of our resilience, inner strength and joy.
  • We are built to seek out warm relationships. We need to be with each other, to connect with others as human beings.
  • We biologically and psychologically need to be with others to calm our nervous systems when we are experiencing suffering or distress.
  • We need to go gently and with compassion through difficult emotions, fear and pain.
  • We need the empathy and care of another to heal memories (whether in conscious awareness or not) that threaten to overwhelm us when we have been alone with them.
  • We need to reestablish a connection to our bodies, to trust in our inner wisdom, resilience and potential, through the safety of the presence of another.

These needs do not go away in a culture that shifts to left-hemispheric dominance. They get buried, hidden, even shamed. And instead they express themselves in rising rates of anxiety, depression, suicide, chronic disease, loneliness and meaninglessness. Our bodies and emotions are communicating with us, and just waiting for a warm, safe, caring place to be received, and for inherent natural health to emerge.

From this place of allowing and being, flows deep healing and inner expansion. This is the way of hope.
