How You Can Have A More Direct Experience of Your Reality

Would you like a more direct experience of your reality?

An experience that is as pure as possible?

To become more aware of what really is?

This is a lifetime's work of self exploration and development. Each step below may take weeks, months or years. Learn your own pace, and what feels right for you.

Firstly, you will need to cleanse - physically and psychologically. The mind and the body are delicate facets of our existence, which we usually do not treat with the awe they deserve.

So take a moment to sit in wonder at the thousands of processes happening right now in your body. The millions of cells renewing themselves, the intelligence of your system to maintain homeostasis (balance) and the remarkable capacity to change and grow.

And breathe in the majesty of human consciousness - our capacity to observe ourselves, to think and create, to share and play, to feel and reflect.

And then set your intention to let go of anything which does not serve your direct experience to savour and enjoy life:

Old patterns, negative thoughts, mental clutter, psychic toxins, harmful chemicals.

Start wherever makes sense to you:

  • Get in touch with your needs - find out what they are, what you missed as a child and what you can do to meet them now in healthy ways.
  • Begin to understand your emotions and learn to feel them as they arise naturally. Then release, through crying, sighing, laughing, singing, dancing etc. Become accepting of your emotions, able to discern subtleties in your feelings, and understand they are of value in connecting to your true self.
  • Understand your self: your personality, your strengths and challenges, how your brain and mind works. Affirm your differences, and work with them to be the best version of yourself.
  • Reduce or remove toxic products that alter your reality - alcohol, caffeine, nicotine.
  • Think about what is going into your body. Pollutants in the air, in your home or work, in your food. Aim to minimise these where possible - switch to organic produce, be mindful of your environment within and without.
  • Connect to nature. Hills, woods, sea, earth, rivers... go out often and breathe.
  • Become best friends with your body - learn about her/him, what they like, what they don't like. Treat your body generously with health, movement and nutrition. Let go of tension, stress, trauma and invite in relaxation, ease and stillness.
  • Engage in a spiritual practice that suits you: prayer, art, chanting, meditation, forest bathing. Through these connections you can let go of psychic and spiritual toxins.

Realise the journey is long. In an ongoing process of letting go and discovering more of yourself; shedding karma and stepping into your authentic self.

Unencumbered by the weight of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual 'toxins' or distractions, you can have a more direct experience of your true reality.

Ultimately you will need to find your quiet space, and learn the skills of becoming quiet within.

Here is you, just you. Your soul, pure and bright.

And in those magic moments of connection, you will remember your wholeness and your connection to all of life.

There are unlikely to be any words, but you will know.
